BGA's Mandarin Language Program - What's Included?
20 hours of group classes every week. Maximum class-size is 6 student per teacher.
5 hours of private classes every week.
Everything students need to learn to speak Mandarin, practice and apply their new language skills in different ways that suit them.
Accommodation is optional. All apartments are modern, spacious and centrally located close to campus. All bills are included in the price if students choose to use this option.

With a teacher to student ratio that is about twice that of what most other private institutions offer, and five times that of Chinese universities, students receive more individual attention.
Class Schedule
Private Classes: 5 Hours/Week
These classes are used to practice personal content, review homework and sharpen pronunciation.
Morning Classes: 2 Hours/Weekday
The morning classes endows students with a base in both written and verbal communication.
Afternoon Classes: 2 Hours/Weekday
The afternoon classes focuses on verbal communication. In advanced levels these classes also feature preparation work for the HSK exams.
HSK is the standardized Mandarin proficiency exam in China.
If there is only 1 student per class (all hours are private) the total hours per week is 15 instead of 25.

Course Literature
All course literature is included. The core classes uses a comprehensive approach which combines both verbal and written communication following the latest version of the New Practical Chinese Reader produced by BLCU (Beijing Language and Culture University).

Material Format
All learning material is designed so as to allow students to retain knowledge and efficiently review lesson, both between language classes and after leaving the Mandarin language school.

Certification
Detailed transcripts are provided.
HSK examination fees are not included in the tuition fee as the price varies for each level and not all students opt to take the HSK test.

Preparations

Visa Application Documentation
BGA provides the required forms and documentation to apply for a Chinese visa.

Advice on Insurance and Health Provisions
For students that require more information regarding health insurance and the international hospitals in Beijing, the support staff is available to advice and assist in the pre-arrival preparations.
While in China

Student Activites
All extra-curricular cultural activities, such as seminars, workshops and classes, are free for all BGA students.

Airport Transfer
Students are met at the airport by our staff and are shown to their new accommodation and introduced to the local area.

24 hour support
365 days a year BGA has a 24 hour hotline available in the event of accidents and emergencies. The support staff is native and bilingual in Mandarin and English, and is able to respond to any on and off-site problems that students may face.

Safe Accommodation
This should be prefaced by saying that Beijing is a very safe city and that expatriates experience very little crime.
However it is still a source of comfort for BGA students, that all BGA apartments, both private and public, have a guard service stationed outside at all times.

Dedicated Staff
BGA provides students with access to a dedicated bilingual staff that is able to help students with booking tickets, advice on Chinese immigration regulations and visa issues, and be of assistance in any other situation.

Educational
Biweekly seminars, workshops and extra classes that aim inform students about what China has to offer through different perspectives; contemporary trends, business opportunities, cultural facets, culinary styles and recipes and historical milestones of development.

Community Life
Our weekly community activities; BBQs, movie nights, games evenings, language challenges, networking events and our monthly welcome party to celebrate The Academies new arrivals, are almost as important to the institution as the academics aspects and are included free of charge for all students and teachers.
